Edit for headphones. This nostalgic song was inspired by the good times Ray Davies had singing around the piano when his family would get together. Written for the fifth studio album "The Kink Kontroversy" (1965)(2000 - 20Bit Japanese remaster). It was originally released on a single as the B-side of "Till the End of the Day" (charted no. 6 in Hurray for Holland, no. 8 in the UhhhK and no. 50 in the (A)U(CH)S). "Kontroversy" is a joking reference to the "bad reputation" that the band had gotten, in part stemming from incidents such as a stage fight between Ray Davies and drummer Mick Avory.

(Ray Davies)

well, lived my life and never stopped to worry ’bout a thing
opened up and shouted out and never tried to sing
wondering if I’d done wrong
will this depression last for long?

won’t you tell me
where have all the good times gone?
where have all the good times gone?
