Description
Edit of a mono song by Don van Vliet (born Don Glen Vliet) and "his" Magic Band. Not really his band, for in 1965 guitar player Alex Snouffer invited Don to sing with a group he was assembling. So Don just joined the first "Magic Band" (and changed his name to Don van Vliet)(a family with Dutch roots)(Vliet is the name of a Dutch river).

"Diddy Wah Diddy" is a song written by Willie Dixon and Ellas McDaniel — known as Bo Diddley — and was recorded by Bo Diddley in 1956. Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band recorded this blues rock version of the song in January 1966. It was their first single, released in March 1966 and became a regional hit, the band performed it (mimed) on the US TV show "Where The Action Is".

DIDDY WAH DIDDY
(Willie Dixon and Ellas McDaniel)

I got a gal in Diddy Wah Diddy
Ain’t no town and it ain’t no city
She loves a man ’til it’s a pity
Crazy ’bout my gal in Diddy Wah Diddy

Diddy Wah
Diddy Wah
Diddy Wah

Little gal sweet as she can be
I know she’s in love with me
Lovely dame
She’s so pretty
Lived on down in Diddy Wah Diddy

Diddy Wah
Diddy Wah
Diddy Wah

Ain’t no town
Ain’t no city
Woah, how they love in Diddy Wah Diddy

She kiss me all the time
Gon’ drive me out of my mind
In a day, she say she ready
Play it right back ’til Diddy Wah Diddy

Diddy Wah
Diddy Wah
Diddy Wah
