The record included the use of backward recording and tape loops
on the psychedelic "Tomorrow Never Knows", classical strings
"Eleanor Rigby", traditional Indian-music bon "Love You To". The songs on the

lyrics addressd death and transcendence from
material concerns. the complexitiy of the record would make reproducing their new material in concert
not possible.

for which the Beatles filmed their first promo films
In the UK, Revolver' were released to radio stations
July 1966. In the US, it was the last Beatles album to be subjected to Capitol's
policy of altering the band's intended content and running order
The release of revolcoincided with the Beatles' final concert tour,
which gain much noterity with John Lennon's
remark that the band had become "more popular than Jesus".

The record topped the UK Albums Chart for seven weeks and America's
Billboard Top LPs list for six weeks. The album cover was designed by Klaus Voormann,

Revolver expanded the scope of pop music in terms of the range of musical
styles used on the album and many music critics feel this was the best beatles album of them all
