Description
NOT an edit. This one is from an unique Japanese album, which says it is "stereo transcription". Though this is the regular mono version, it is UNIQUE, for no other album has this mono sound. A Japanese piece of art in sound engineering !

"Little Red Rooster" was recorded September 2, 1964, at Regent Sound in London. Others state that it was recorded at the Chess studio's in Chicago, which I doubt, for in that studio several outstanding early Rolling Stones songs were recorded in true stereo.

Recorded September 2, 1964. Released as a UK single on November 13, 1964, and was a # 1 hit.
In Holland it reached # 4 in Januari 1965 and remained for twelve weeks in the charts.
The single was banned in the US because of its sexual undertone(!). How sick minded that committee must have been. (Maybe presided by the jesuit monk that now rules the roman church?)

Released in the US on the album "The Rolling Stones Now" on February 12, 1965. November 4, 1966 on "Big Hits (high tide and green grass)".

Electric slide guitar & harp: Brian Jones. Vocal: Mick Jagger. Acoustic guitar: Keith Richards. Drums: Charlie Watts. Bass: Bill Wyman.

LITTLE RED ROOSTER
(Willie Dixon)

I am the little red rooster
too lazy to crow for day
I am the little red rooster
too lazy to crow for day

keep everything in the farm yard upset in every way

the dogs begin to bark and hounds begin to howl
dogs begin to bark and hounds begin to howl
watch out strange cat people
little red rooster's on the prowl

if you see my little red rooster
please drive him home
if you see my little red rooster
please drive him home
ain't had no peace in the farm yard
since my little red rooster's been gone
