Description
Jane Mudrovich proudly presents her book Exorcising the Googie and its prequel The Bodeyems. The former is a story of a wary pair of fourteen-year old twin girls coming of age in the early 1960s. After begrudgingly accepting sweaty Charlie Freeber's invitation to the eighth grade prom, Lilly attends in a homemade dress sewn by her mother that hangs on her lanky frame like a flour sack.Her fraternal twin sister Violet Jane also makes the dance with her loyal toadies feeling like Scarlett O'Hara with her cinched in twenty-two inch waist. Lilly's tale tells of simpler days and the many mishaps she shares with Violet.Her cherished moments with her beloved grandmother unfold throughout the novel even after death as Baba shares her magic and protection in dreams.
