Description
NOT an edit. This one is unique. It is from a Japanese release.* Though this is just the regular mono version, it still is UNIQUE, for no other album has this mono sound. The Japanese sure know how to deal with sound quality ! They should be ashamed for killing whales, they should be imprisoned for polluting this planet with nuclear plants waste and they should be wiped out as a nation for destroying rain forests, but, man, man, they are sound specialists !

* The album is "Big Hits (High Tide And Green Grass)", released April 25, 1989 - catalogue number P25L 25039. The same master was used for two other Japan only releases of the album: the May 1 1987 P33L 25016 and the February 25 1995 POCD-1919. The three albums all have the UK tracklist and the nine "stereo transcription" songs.

An interesting stereo version is song 11 on volume 7 of "The Rolling Stones - Unsurpassed Masters". The title of the song is "The Last Time (Stereo Mix)".

Recorded January 11 & 12, 1965. Released as a US single on March 13, 1965. Also released on "Out Of Our Heads" in 1965.

Lead electric guitar: Brian Jones. Lead vocals: Mick Jagger. Rhythm guitar (& solo): Keith Richards. Bass: Bill Wyman. Drums: Charlie Watts.

Backing vocals: Keith Richards & Bill Wyman.

THE LAST TIME
(Jagger/Richards)

well I told you once and I told you twice,
but ya never listen to my advice, yYou don't try very hard to please me ,
with what you know it should be easy.

well this could be the last time,
this could be the last time,
maybe the last time,
I don't know. Oh no. Oh no.

well, I'm sorry girl but I can't stay,
feelin' like I do today,
there's too much pain and too much sorrow,
cause I'll feel the same tomorrow.

well this could be the last time,
this could be the last time,
maybe the last time,
I don't know. Oh no. Oh no.

well this could be the last time,
this could be the last time,
maybe the last time,
I don't know. Oh no. Oh no.

well I told you once and I told you twice,
a'someone have to pay the price,
a'here's a chance to change your mind,
'caus I'll be gone a long, long time.

well this could be the last time,
this could be the last time,
maybe the last time,
I don't know. Oh no. Oh no
last time baby
I see you no more, well a'not no more,
well a'not no more, well a'not no mor
