Harry Nilsson - Jump into the Fire

Ever been to a Harry Nilsson concert? Ha ha...liar! Mr. Nilsson was one of a handful of successful artists who never performed in a public venue nor went on tour to promote any of his work.
Harry Nilsson formed a close relationship with John Lennon and in the year 1974 they collaborated on an album together, "Pussy Cat". His most commercially successful album, Nilsson Schmilsson (1971) reached the top ten in the domestic and international music charts. One of his earlier songs, Everybody's Talkin', was used in the motion picture, "Midnight Cowboy".
After the assassination of his good friend John Lennon, Harry Nilsson's recording output severely diminished. He dedicated his time campaigning for strict gun control.
He was voted No. 62 in Rolling Stone's 2015 list of the "100 Greatest Songwriters of All Time". A prodigious spot for an artist that never performed publicly and shunned the limelight. 'Jump Into The Fire' is off of his most successful 1971 LP, "Nilsson Schmilsson".
Odd bit of sad trivia. Nilsson's 1970's London flat 12, 9 Curzon Place on the edge of Mayfair, was the site of Mama Cass Elliot's death in 1974 of heart failure. It was also the site where The Who's Keith Moon died from an overdose of a prescription medication used to fight his alcoholism. Harry Nilsson later sold the property to Keith Moon's bandmate, Peter Townsend.
Harry Nilsson died of heart failure on January 15, 1994, in his Agoura Hills, California, home, aged 52.
Peace....
