WINGER is an American band in the glam, heavy and progressive metal & rock musical genres formed in New York City in 1987. The initial lineup featured brothers Kip, Nate & Paul Winger and their friend Peter Fletcher. Paul and Kip met while touring for Alice Cooper.
The band gained popularity during the late 1980s - 1990s with 2 platinum albums, 'Winger' and 'In The Heart of the Young'*, along with charting singles 'Seventeen', 'Headed for a Heartbreak' and 'Miles Away'. In 1990, the band was nominated for an American Music Award for 'Best New Heavy Metal Band'. As the music scene changed around mid-1990s due to the popularity of grunge, then their success faded following their 3rd release '1993's Pull' and Winger disbanded in 1994.

In 2001, original members return to the studio to record 'On the Inside' for 'The Very Best of Winger'. In 2002, all 5 members embarked on a reunion tour of the U.S. & Canada with Poison. In 2006, the band's 1993 touring lineup reunited to record their 1st studio album in over 13 years, titled 'IV' and toured in support of it. In 2009, they released their 5fth album 'Karma', followed by 'Better Days Comin' in 2014. Their most recent album 'Seven' released on 05/05/2023, and a new single was published titled 'Proud Desperado'.
Actual line-up : Kip Winger – lead vocals, bass, keyboards ; Reb Beach – guitar, harmonica, BV ; Rod Morgenstein – drums, percussion, piano, BV ; Paul Taylor – keyboards, guitar, BV ; John Roth – guitar, bass, keyboards and Backing Vocals.
